Want one color all over but have two tones

by Karla Gutierrez
(Weston, FL)

Last year I decided to go blond and my stilist thought it would be good to do it as highlights. I have natually dark brown hair, but had been coloring it close to a black for about 5 to 6 years. She stripped the color off and did highlights, and used a toner to make it better becuase is came out orange. After that
I went a couple of more times, but I realized that I was nor crazy about the cost of the highlights and thought one color would be better specially becuase it grew out way to fast. But since all the colors woudl fade away to fast, I went back to my black. I has been about 7 months since this whole ordeal and I have colored it about 3 times with the semi permanent black color. I honeslty want to go to a light brown shade (all one color, but the problem is that even if my color is stripped away, I will still be left with two tones and I don't want to cut my hair that short in order to get what I want. How can I get this look withour super damaging my hair? Please help
