So, my question is simply what colour to colour my hair.
I have been a brunette and a blonde.
I am half asian so i never thought blonde would suit me but i did it anyway and it turned out ok.
Now at the moment i have brown hair with some blonde streaks but my brown has kind of turned orangy and my streaks are yellow not white like i asked for.

I was wondering whether to dye my hair all one colour brown and if so what kind of brown, lighter or darker? because im actually not a big fan of dark brown hair, i feel like its kind of boring, or should i dye my hair light brown with white blonde highlights so the overall look would kind of be like Nicole Ritchie? or would that be too light for me?
I'm also wondering if having one colour is better than putting in streaks? like Lindsay Lohan has all one colour dark brown at the moment and i do like it, but i'm not sure how it would look on me..I feel like the lighter my hair is, the more choices i have in colour for clothes and make up..well thank you for reading this, i'll really appreciate your advice.

My preference, based on the photos, is more toward the blonde. For some added depth (and a bit of drama), it might be nice to add just a few very light pieces near the front and a few very dark pieces underneath.

Hey, fellow half asian :D

I think you have a versital face, and would be able to pull off any hair color. You look very asian, so you would look great in dark colors, yet you are white enough to look greate in lighter colors! So really, I think you can do what ever pleases you... I know you'll look nice. :)

i think blond actually suits you but u should have some brownish make up, like brown eye liner , and cream lip stick, and i think it is better to dye ur eye brow too some kind of brown ,thats it:)

Ok, so i'm supposed to be studying but then I thought of my hair.

I'm also half Indonesian! And am in the process of turning my hair blonde. wow! I went from black, black hair, to chocolate, now its ashy-light brown. I hope to have a nice ash-blonde colour. Nothing nasty. Nothing trashy. Nothing yellor or orange.

Its tough because thats what happens to asian hair. Try telling that to your hairdresser.

I'd love to know how you're hair is going. Its a tough issue and most people dont get it!

i think that you would suit dark blonde with some high and low lights in it to make it more fun but dont take your hair too blonde because your skin and eyes are quite dark and may not suit that much. im a trainee hairdresser so i kind of know what im talking about. good luck.

i honestly think the blonde washes out your complexion and makes you look ill. the brown makes you look healthier. a mahogany would look good for winter and maybe a chestnut color in summer.

You look amazing with both dark hair or with blond. Just by looking and judging these two particular pictures though, I personally think the blonder/caramel highlights suit you better.
I'm also half Indonesian, half Scandinavian. I can also be very dark brown, but also very caramel blond. However, I constantly have to re-adjust my makeup shades to suit my hair tones -e,g, I have to use more bronzer when I am a brunette, so that I don't look too washed out.
You should send your picture in for a modelling shoot with American Apparel. You definitely have the 'look' for it.

Go with the lighter shade..
Depending on your skintone it may make you looked washed out if you go too dark.
You have that perfect skintone for a medium blonde shade, like your picture above.

As someone also commented, brown-tones in make up will look beautiful with ur medium blonde hair.
It will make it look more natural and make u look less made up.

if you're half asian (like me) you'll really struggle to get it light.
and if you do get it white, you're hair will be really dry and damaged.
try quite a dark brown with some caramel colored high lights?
and if you're thinking about having a full head color, but you already have some lighter highlights, the color will probably be lighter where your blonde is anyway which will look nice.
unless you go really dark, but i wouldnt do that because it'll be hard to get it light again afterwards.

I had the exact same feelings as everything you put (get bored fast, not a big fan of super dark hair) but i'm kinda tired of super light hair too...i'm half asian as well!!! this is the color i'm considering now but not too sure

I like the pic with the lighter color altough I would not consider that to be blonde. It still looks brown... a lighter brown. Try that color with some blonde highlights.

I have to disagree with just about everyone, I think the brown is goooorrgeous! I have naturally dark hair as well and have had both brown and blond but was just looking to go brown again and googling some hair color pics.. And I love the brown I think it looks great and exotic. I may even bring in the pic for my own hairdresser to mimic!

i agree with the person who posted november 2 said! you have really white features except for your eyes, and the blonde goes with your skin tone while playing up your eyes. half asians are so pretty. also, random, but i think you'd look better if you didn't put eyeliner in the inner lower corner of your eyes, it makes you look tired

I think you should die it brown... and there are two options which I believe you can pull off:

1) medium brown with some streaks of lighter shades of brown or brownish reddish for the warmer season.

2) Dark brown... (not black) and have it curled into soft curls (not tight curls). I have seen this hair on some girls and if you keep your soft curls silky it looks super!

TIP: I dunno if you tried this already but in my case my hair turns red too fairly easy AND it's annoying but! right now I have dark brown hair with beige streaks (almost white but not entirely) and it looks sort of like an ashy blonde... depending on the number of streaks you get. Anyway I use a special shampoo that is supposed to AVOID your hair turning redish... it has worked so far and in fact my streaks seem lighter than when I just got them (they looked a tad yellowish, to my dislike)

I'M HALF ASIAN TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I have the same problem! I just recently dyed my hair brown and it looks orange! I also had blonde highlights before and they looked yellow!!! It sucks! I love to expierment with my hair and it's so hard because nothing turns out the way I want it too! I've been thinking of dying my hair your color in the blonde! I'm afraid though! But since you took the risk I think I will too!!

I think you are very pretty but I cannot see a big difference between two pictures. the blond you are referring to has probably has a couple of highlights maximum....unless you camera has a very bad colour reproduction.

The "blonde hair" (it s more a light brown for what i can see in the pic) have a nice cut that stays very well in your type of face... but i can't say the same thing in the color... it stays nice at you, for change, but you can have a better look(my opinion)... the first look(color) it s a little more natural... the day light it s the better for you see the true color of your hair... when you paint your hair don t look at the pictures that you take but see it in a mirror in day light, if it stays well... then if he stays well... he will stays well in any kind of light(artificial for expl)... I think that you should do reflexes(light brown;golden...or other similiar to this that stays natural with your natural hair... i think it s the better thing for you and for your hair, because paint the hair totaly it s a big damage, and if you just do little reflexes on it, he stays more healthy, prety and natural... hope I help you :) Good luck!!!
