why doesn't hair color work?

by Kim
(Dayton, Ohio)

I am a brunette. I'd like to have some blond highlights. I've tried lots of different brands but none "take". I color when my hair is clean and dry. There has to be a reason why hair color doesn't work for me but I have no idea what it could be.

probably because you have already colored your hair. you cannot lift color with color. the only way you could do that, if that is the case,is with bleach. hilights. there is no reason that color"will not take". probably, you just dont know what you are doing. YOU,should go to a professional. i predict that if you want blonde in your hair and you have auburn in it, that you are not going to like the color that you get yourself, because it is going to have some red in it. you will end up making a mess of your hair texture and end up going to a professional to fix it. may as well save money and the integrety of your hair and go to a professional from the start.
