Why Won't My Stylist Do What I Ask?

I have light brown hair and regulary get it hilighted. I always tell my stylist I want LIGHT BLONDE hilights, not GOLDEN. She started off at 10 volume and the last few times she has used 20 volume, but my hilights always turn out GOLDEN. My boyfriend rarely even notices when I have my hair done.

I always tell her how nice her hair looks (light blonde/ white hilights). It is about the same texture as mine (thin and straight). She tells me she uses 40 volume and leaves it in for 45 minutes.

Why won't she do this to my hair as well when I ask specifically for light blonde/ white hilights? Is there something she's scared of? I am fair skinned, is that why she's sticking to golden hilights even though I am requesting something else?

Is it because she thinks my hair is going to fall out?

I know I should ask her why she does this but I just don't see how it can be in any way confusing when a client asks for something specific?

hairstylist wont do what you want

could be she doesn't want it to be 'brassy' or too much of a drastic change.. get a magazine picture and literally put it in front of her face ans tell her you want this color!! or get a semi-permanent color at the store and do it yourself and go to your next appointment and watch her draw drop! I'm sure you pay quite abit plus a tip, you deserve to get what you want.. if not go somewhere else.

if i were you, and im a hairdresser, i would go to another stylist before the one you are going to fries up your hair!!!! i cant imagine that a professional would leave chemicals on your hair that long! use the lightest platinum blonde for highlites with foils. leave on for the time it says, with twenty volume. go to a hairstylist that uses enzymes instead of peroxide. it only takes seven minutes with enzymes and doesnt damage your hair like peroxide does.
