Will dying my hair brown stop my hair from breaking?

by Paige

I'm naturally a dirty dishwater blonde (light brown with blonde in it)... 2 months ago I got my hair highlighted a very sunkissed blonde. Still to this day it's really dry and keeps breaking. It's hard to get my fingers through it when its damp. I have very thin long fine hair. I have been a lighter blonde for years and years... I'm scared to dye it back to it's natural color. My outgrowth looks gross but I don't want to touch up the roots in fear that it'll get worse.. My hair has never done this before. If I dye it back to it's natural color will all this breakage and dryness stop. I've tried everything but that, so far nothing has worked. HELP!

I'm no pro - but it seems your hair is dried out from the bleaching. Going back to the brown is a good idea. I use natural instincts hair coloring and it is a semi permanent coloring which makes it easier on the hair. I do mine every six weeks and my hair is shiny and healthy. No split ends. Good luck.

it sounds like you need to leave your hair alone and let it recover. try doing hot oil treatments 2x week and just condition everyday for a few weeks before you do anything or you might end up bald. also remember when in doubt ask pro at salon they can recomend products to thicken hair and make it more healthier. hope this helps good luck.
