wrong color what do I do??

by Heather
(Texas)

My hairdresser who has been coloring my hair for 10 years very well, put the wrong color in my hair two weeks ago and made it reddish brown when it was very lite blonde. I went back for her to fix it and she did a color correction and now it is blonde with brassy red all over, now what??? She said she could not do color over color, however she used to color my hair light brown to cover gray and then pull hi-lites thru cap..that is color over color, so why can't she do the same now??

when a hairstylist tells you that she cannot color over color what she is telling you is..you cannot put a lighter color over a darker color & expect it to change that lighter color. you can put a darker color over any lighter color just not the reverse. For lighter results on darker hair you must lighten the hair (bleach, color correction). If she has done your hair for 10 years & your happy with her..stay with her. Just ask her about putting a toner or glazing the hair or even using a colored shampoo to tone down the brassiness. with each color appointment add a few more highlites..then it will lighten up without comprimising the hairs structure.
