Amlactin Daily vs Rapid Relief Lotions: Which ONE Should You Choose?

Sharing is caring!

A good body lotion is to the body what a good moisturizer is to the face. You can use it on your legs, arms, torso, etc., and enjoy supple, flexible, and smooth skin. Aside from that, you can also increase the body’s protection barrier when you choose one that’s suitable for your skin.

Fortunately, there are dozens of brands to choose from…Cetaphil, Amlactin, CeraVe, Aveeno, and a lot more. In this article, I’m looking at Amlactin, one of the best sources for body lotions.

They have two very popular lotions, the Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion and Rapid Relief Lotion.

If you’re reading this, you may already be thinking of purchasing one of them but are unable to decide on the right one. If that’s the case, then you need to read this article to the end.

This will include not only the review of both products but also comparison so you can easily differentiate them and choose one that suits your fancy.

Amlactin Daily vs Rapid Relief Lotions: Which is Better?

Amlactin Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion

The Amlactin Daily Moisturizing Lotion is formulated with 12% lactic acid. The purpose of this ingredient is to increase the skin cell turnover so that dead skin cells get eliminated and reduced on the top layer of the skin.

The 12% concentration is confirmed to help the skin get thick and firm, leading to a smooth skin appearance and little in the way of wrinkles and fine lines. The lotion comes in a 7.9 oz bottle, which is formulated for daily usage.

Aside from the lactic acid content, the cream also contains other ingredients that deeply moisturize and leave the skin soft and smooth.

In addition to that, the cream is fragrance-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, and is dermatologist-recommended. The lotion is specifically designed for dryness and can be used on the whole body.

It’s also non-greasy so it doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky. The bottle has a convenient pump action so it’s easy to apply the lotion anywhere at home.

Finally, the lotion is designed for the whole body so you can apply it to your back, legs, skin, and arms. Other members of the family can also use it.

You can buy it from several online stores including Amazon, Ulta, Walmart, and the official website of Amlactin.

Verdict

The lotion gently exfoliates the skin, scraping away old skin cell layers so that newer ones can come to the surface. Thus leaving a skin texture that’s smooth, soft, and clean.

Humectant content also ensures water is absorbed and prevented from leaving the skin, making for a surface that’s supple and blooming. If you have symptoms like dry skin, keratosis pilaris, this moisturizer is a decent option to consider.

AmLactin® Rapid Relief Lotion

I have always struggled with extremely sensitive, reactive skin because I have eczema and many different skin allergies.

This makes finding a lotion very difficult.

And living without one is almost impossible. Both cold and dry weather triggers my allergies and dust makes my eczema worse. So, you can imagine how winter goes for me. And how I must keep my skin in check if I don’t want it to crack and bleed everywhere.

Recently I ran out of my habitual lotion and I was having trouble finding it (maybe it was discontinued, I don’t know). So searching on the Internet I came across this AmLactin® Rapid Relief Lotion.

And after reading many good reviews that insisted on how gentle it is in the skin I decided to give it a go.

Man, I sure am glad that I did: I wouldn’t go back to my old one even if they paid me a million dollars.

This lotion is indeed super soft and gentle on delicate skin. And it provides instant relief. Whenever I feel too itchy or “tight” I just slather it on and I feel much better right away.

I don’t crack or bleed half as much even when it is super cold, and my skin feels less tight these days. The scent is subtle, nice, and not offensive at all too which is a plus.

Verdict

The lotion doesn’t absorb super fast and it is a bit “oily”, which is a plus for me because I like to feel like I am protected but some other people might prefer lotions that absorb fast.

The bottle is also quite big and lasts me a couple of months, so I think that is reasonable for the price.

All in all, I would recommend it for every person that has skin issues, especially allergies!

Amlactin Daily vs Rapid Relief Lotions: Comparison

The first thing that comes to mind when comparing both products is the price. Since they’re designed to be used for hydrating dry skin, the price should be similar.

However, the Amlacting Daily Moisturizer is more expensive than the Rapid Relief. So, if you want to save some bucks while still getting a good dose of moisturization, you should probably go with Rapid Relief.

In addition to that, the Amlactin Rapid Relief Lotion is formulated for dry/sensitive skin while the Daily Moisturizer is formulated for oily skin. If you have very dry, itchy skin or psoriasis, the Amlactin Rapid Relief is more fitting.

The Daily Moisturizer, on the other hand, is very good for dehydrated skin. In terms of texture, the Rapid Relief is thicker and as such is slowly absorbed by the skin.

The Daily Moisturizer, on the other hand, is lighter, and as a result, the skin absorbs it faster. Both lotions are fragrance-free.

Conclusion

Both lotions are good and are selling like hot cake, just as they were when they first came out. If you’ve been finding it difficult to choose one, you now know the differences between the two.

Don’t just consider the price (and go with one that’s cheaper). Instead, look at other factors, most particularly how they suit different skin types.

Therefore, evaluate your skin condition and see which one is more suitable.
