Amlactin vs Eucerin: Which is the Better and More Effective?

Sharing is caring!

A good body lotion is to the body what a good moisturizer is to the face.

You can use it on your legs, arms, torso, etc., and enjoy supple, flexible, and smooth skin. Aside from that, you can also increase the body’s protection barrier when you choose one that’s suitable for your skin.

Fortunately, there are dozens of brands to choose from…Cetaphil, Lancome, CeraVe, Aveeno, and a lot more. In this article, I’m looking at Amlactin and Eucerin, two of the best sources for body lotions.

The two have two very popular lotions, the Amlactin Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion and Eucerin Daily Hydration Lotion.

If you’re reading this, you may already be thinking of purchasing one of them but are unable to decide on the right one. If that’s the case, then you need to read this article to the end.

Amlactin vs Eucerin: Which is the Better?

Amlactin Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion

The Amlactin Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion is one of the popular dermatologist-recommended creams out there.

The lotion has a gentle formula that gently exfoliates and hydrates dry skin, making it feel smooth and supple.

While other moisturizers only hydrate the topmost layer of the skin, which often returns the skin to its former state once it dries, this cream is different.

It does more than just moisturize. With up to 12% lactic acid, the cream exfoliates rough, flaky, dry skin, while also exfoliating it. The result is old, dead skin cells that shed away, revealing the healthy-looking, young skin underneath.

The lotion is a daily gentle moisturizer, meaning you can use it every day without causing bad reactions.

Thanks to a clean formula, the cream is paraben-free, fragrance-free, and non-greasy.

That means you’re safe from chemicals, irritating ingredients, and greasy feelings after using the Amlactin Lotion. It is designed for the whole body, so you can use it on your legs, arms, and back.

The ingredient list:

12% lactic aci, water, mineral oil, glycerin, propylene glycol, glyceryl stearate, PEG-100 stearate, laureth-4, magnesium aluminum silicate, cetyl alcohol, PEG-40 stearate, propylparabene, methylparaben, and methylcellulose

Verdict

The Amlactin product is enriched with emollient and humectants that helps to relieve skin roughness and hydrate the skin.

It’s also affordable and in the price range of similar products like the CeraVe SA lotion, Eucerin Roughness Relief Lotion and many others.

Large areas of the skin such as the legs, back, arms can benefit from this gentle cream, especially when they’re rough and uneven.

Eucerin Daily Hydration Lotion

As you can see from the name, this Eucerin lotion is for daily use. It can deliver up to 24 hours of hydration, similar to the Amlactin Daily Lotion.

It is enriched with both sunflower oil and pro-vitamin B5 and is free from fragrance and dye. It’s equally recommended by dermatologists and designed for the whole body.

It is recommended that you use it once everyday, immediately after bathing for the best results. The formula is light and gentle, which allows it to absorb into the skin quickly.

I like cream that my body can assimilate quickly, even before putting on my cloths. That way, my body will look fresh while outside and not greasy.

The lotion is non-greasy and can be used on sensitive and dry skin. It also comes in a pump both, which is perfect for storage anywhere in your home.

One of the good things about the lotion is that it’s free from fragrance, making it a good option for those sensitive to scent.

Verdict

The Eucerin Daily Lotion is available for purchase on the official Eucerin site or other platforms like Amazon, CVS, Walmart, and so on.

Not only does it heal the skin but will also protect and keep it hydrated and soft for a full day. It’s a decent product to have at home or at the office to keep your skin even, smooth, and supple at all time.

The Ingredient List:

Glycerin, urea, cetearyl alcohol, water, glycerylglucoside, sodium lactate, cyclomethicone, caprylic, shea butter, octyldodecanol, methlypropanediol, tapioca starch, dicaprylyl ether, hydrogenated coco-glycerides, sodium PCA, arginine HCL, glyceryl stearate SE, carrageenan, lactic acid, dimethiconol, carnitine, mannitol, ceramide 3, serine, citrulline, sucrose, glycogen, histidineHcL, threonine, alanine, lysine HCL, glutamic acid, sodium chloride, sodium cetearyl sulfate, phenoxyethanol, and 1,2-hexanediol

Amlactin vs Eucerin: The Differences

The Amlactin Lotion has fewer ingredients than the Eucerin Body Lotion. Naturally, I like creams with lower number of ingredients.

This is because the chance of being irritated is higher with more ingredient than with fewer ingredients. So, if you have a sensitive skin, the Amlactin lotion may be better for you.

In terms of price, the Amlactin lotion is also cheaper. Although it depends on where you’re buying, you may have to pay double the price of the Amlactin product for the Eucerin lotion.
