Cerave vs Olay: Which Is the King of Moisturizing Creams?

Sharing is caring!

If you’re suffering from acne, pimples, and oily skin, I’m sure you’ll be happy to pay a fortune for a moisturizing lotion that works.

Unfortunately, there are dozens of these products out there that come with empty promises. They don’t do improve your skin condition; if not worsen it. However, there are some unique ones out there that can really help you.

These are the ones I help you look for so you can get back your beautiful skin. Two of the favorite moisturizing lotions are Cerave’s Moisturizing Lotion and Olay Regenerist.

They might not be the best out there. But they get the job done. But how do you determine the best one for you? That’s what this article is aimed at doing; to help you choose the right one.

Cerave vs Olay: Which One Should You Choose?

Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream

The Regenerist cream has been around for some time now. And as far as my research can tell, most people using the Micro-Sculpting Cream attest to its effectiveness.

That isn’t to say it works with everybody and that it would for you. That’s what skincare is for you, you have to really try them out and pray they work for your skin.

But the fact that this cream works for so many people is a reason to try it out. And why you’ll see it recommended a lot. One of the key ingredients of the cream is Amino-Peptide Complex 2, which helps in skin and surface cell regeneration.

While it won’t make you look younger than you really are, it can help remove roughness on the skin and smoothen it out. Isn’t that what many of us wants?

It also contains hyaluronic acid, which helps to hydrate the skin and keep it fresh and soft. The nourishing formula can also reduce wrinkles and fine lines for a cleaner skin surface. It is gentle so you can use it daily and on the whole body.

You can use it as a standalone moisturizer or with another moisturizer, depending on your routine. According to the manufacturer, you should see transformations in your skin within 28 days if you use it daily.

Verdict

Most users use it as a primary moisturizer and it’s effective that way but the choice is yours. In addition to that, the cream is suitable for any age.

Both younger and older generations have used it to good results. The only thing you need to be careful of is buying from unreliable sources as they may sell you counterfeit which won’t work.

CeraVe Moisturizing Body Lotion

The Cerave Moisturizing Cream is primarily formulated to care for dry skin.

This moisturizing, oil-free lotion features ceramides which are naturally occurring lipids that form the skin’s protective barrier.

A good dose will keep the skin free from harmful elements so that it stays healthy. In addition to that, the cream contains hyaluronic acid, which helps the skin maintain its moisture level.

The cream can be used on acne-prone, oily, dry, and sensitive skin. It’s non-comedogenic and free from fragrance and is approved by NEA (National Eczema Association).

The texture of the cream is also light, so it easily absorbs into the skin without leaving a patchy or greasy feeling. You can use it on your face or other parts of the body.

Verdict

The cream also goes well with other CeraVe products like the Foaming Facial Cleanser, Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum, and Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30.

This cream, and any other CeraVe product, can be used at night or during the day. This can come in very handy when you have a busy schedule.

Cerave vs Olay: How They Compared

The ingredients in both creams are very similar. When looking at the ingredient for both, I discovered that it’s a long list. I usually like to see a few ingredients but for many, this isn’t always possible.

When looking at the list of ingredients, I also found alcohol to be present in both. I would never go for any cream, and any skincare product for that matter, that contains alcohol.

At least, both are culprits here. While Cerave has a lightweight texture, the Olay Regenerist is quite thick but should absorb into the skin without any problem. There are plenty of antioxidants in Olay Regenerist, compared to Cerave PM, which comes with only niacinamide.

The price of both creams isn’t far apart, so there isn’t a differential there too. However, Cerave is targeted toward acne-prone, sensitive skin. While Olay is more suitable for mature skin.

So, if you’re still young, you should be looking at Cerave. However, if you’re above 40yrs and looking for a suitable cream, Olay is the best option for you.
