Eucerin vs Gold Bond: Which Brand Should You Go for?
Therapy lotions have been around for quite a while now. Many brands like Eucerin, Gold Bond, Lubriderm, Suave, Vaseline, etc have their branded products.
These lotions are uniquely formulated to help tackle dry skin problems. They’re suitable for people suffering from eczema, psoriasis, cracked skin, skin irritation, chapped skin, and the likes.
Gold Bond and Eucerin, have two identical products for these skin problems. Both are good but you can’t buy both, right? So, how do you decide between the two?

There are quite a few similarities between both products but no two brands are the same. The Gold Bond Therapy Lotion is designed for moisturizing dry areas on the body such as the feet, hands, face, or the whole body.
Similarly, Eucerin Intensive Repair Lotion is formulated for very dry, flaky skin. If you’re also suffering from eczema, both products are applicable for your use.

Application
The Gold Bond Ultimate Lotion is formulated more for the whole body while the Eucerin Intensive Repair Lotion is more for the hands.
Therefore, if you’re looking for something that can you can use on all your body, your best option might be the Gold Bond. But if it’s just the hands, then Eucerin is superb for that. That doesn’t mean you can’t use both the other way around.
Fragrance
Another big difference between the two is that the Eucerin Intensive Repair Lotion is unscented while the Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Therapy is scented.
If you like odorless skincare products, then the Eucerin Intensive Repair Lotion is obviously better for you. I love my personal care products to be scented, especially hair care products.
If the scent is good, I cherish it for a while before it vanishes. However, I’ve also come across many people who hate fragranced products. It could probably be because they’re allergic. So, if you’re like that, you have a winner on your hand.
Ingredients
The Gold Bond Lotion contains three vitamins, A, C, and E, which are not found in the Eucerin Repair Lotion. These vitamins have antibiotic, anti-aging, and moisturizing properties which are very good for the skin.
The two lotions have glycerin, which is important for keeping the skin hydrated and soft. I also like that the Gold Bond Lotion has aloe vera, a vitamin-rich plant that has lots of skin beneficial properties.
Not only will it moisturize the skin, but can also soothe sunburn, fade dark spots, and help with skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema.
Eucerin Lotion, on the other hand, is formulated with alpha hydroxy, which is an effective exfoliating agent. It works similarly to aloe vera in that it helps fade dark spots, increase skin thickness, minimize acne, and reduce fine lines.

The Gold Bond Healing Therapy Lotion can be used at all times and anywhere. Eucerin, on the other hand, may not be very safe for use outdoors.
According to the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) may increase the skin’s sensitivity to the sun. This means that there is an increased risk of sunburn when you put on cream with AHA, which is present in the Eucerin Lotion.
You have to wear protective clothing or use sunscreen before going out after using the lotion. In other words, you need to limit sun exposure while using it. Unfortunately, this is too much hassle for most people.
Conclusion
As far as I’m concerned, both products are absolutely good. But I’ll choose the Gold Bond Ultimate Therapy Lotion over the Eucerin Repair Lotion for the reason mentioned above.
