Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser vs Gentle Skin Cleanser: the Differences

Sharing is caring!

The major difference between the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser and Gentle Skin Cleanser is that the Facial Cleanser is formulated for oily skin while the Gentle Skin Cleanser is suitable for sensitive skin. Although the Gentle Cleanser doesn’t foam, the Facial Cleanser does foam.

If you have sensitive skin, there is a cap on what you can put on your skin. You have to be selective with skincare products. It doesn’t help that many skin cleansers do more harm than good.

If your cleanser is causing redness, itchiness, burning, dry cracked skin, and even blemishes, you may be using the wrong type. You need to go for a gentle one that’ll not irritate your skin.

A lot of the cleansers that are available in drug stores and department stores are made with cheap ingredients. This can mean that they’re putting more chemicals in those cleansers than natural ingredients.

If you’re looking for gentle skin cleansers for sensitive skin, consider both the daily facial cleanser and gentle skin cleanser from Cetaphil. Users rave about them and you might get good results too.

Let’s look at the two cleansers; we’ll explore their similarities and differences.

About Cetaphil

Cetaphil is an American skincare brand with a special focus on moisturizers, bar soap, cream, cleansers, and lotions.

Cetaphil’s product is sold in over 70 countries and can be found in various stores throughout the United States and Canada.

Most of Cetaphil’s products are formulated to solve a specific skincare issue, such as acne, skin roughness, dryness, or a weak skin barrier.

Most of the brand’s moisturizers and cleansers are free from scent with most ingredient lists featuring water, sodium lauryl sulfate, and a host of other ingredients.

Key active ingredients include ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide.

Each of these ingredients is focused on moisturizing skin and alleviating various skin concerns.

The brand is also one of the biggest producers of skin products for those with sensitive skin. The brand also has formulas that cater to other skin types so everyone can have their own suitable Cetaphil product.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser vs Gentle Skin Cleanser

There are definitely some similarities between the two creams. For one, they’re both dermatologist-recommended. They are effective in cleaning up dirt and residue on the face. The formula in both is non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic.

The price is also very similar too. Baring that, there are some major variations between the two that warrant a close look. That’s what the next few sections will be about.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser Review

I have always had delicate skin, prone to irritation and bouts of acné so I try to be mindful of what I put on my face.

I ran out of my go-to cleanser (Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser) and watching Youtube reviews a dermatologist gave this a recommendation so I decided to give it a try.

When it comes to skin cleansers you really can’t beat Cetaphil, it leaves your skin soft and glowy and who wouldn’t want that?

I think you definitely should give it a try, it really isn’t that expensive, and if it ends up working for your better than your expensive cleanser you could be saving a lot of money.

Benefits of this Cleanser

I was a bit skeptical about this product because I liked Cetaphil’s cleanser so much I had been using it for years, but Cetaphil did not disappoint. The texture of this cleanser is dense, silky, and dense, almost like a gel.

Unlike other cleansers it doesn’t bubble or foam, it lathers and covers your face with its very soft, gel-like consistency. The scent is non-offensive.

Rather, the cleanser doesn’t have any scent or soapy elements. This means that it’s a suitable option for those who are sensitive to fragrance or harsh chemicals. It’s very mild and subtle, barely there. It is very easy to cleanse too, just a few splashes of water and done.

Your skin is feeling left clean, soft, and “plump” without feeling tight or dry. In fact, quite the opposite! After using this cleanser my skin feels really soft, moisturized, and overall really nice which I absolutely love.

As of now, it hasn’t irritated my skin at all or caused any breakouts. It seems like this cleanser is great for those with skin issues, or for those that want to get rid of acné fast.

I’ve not seen any claim from the manufacturer that you’ll see results immediately after using this product. Even if they mentioned this, I’d be wary of that. However, you can expect to see some positive changes after a few weeks.

As you know, these things require patience. If you’re looking for a quick recovery or result in a short period of time, this may not be for you. Perhaps, you should be careful with products that promise that. Most don’t stand up to the claim.

Some of the ingredients include alcohol, which I hate and will make me not buy a product. Baring that, the cleanser is a solid one.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Review

This is one of Cetaphil’s popular products. The product claims that it’s suitable for oily and normal skin. To make that possible, it comes with a gentle and non-irritant ingredients list.

It’s dermatologist recommended and can be used for sensitive skin. You should note that this facial cleanser is a low lather formula. However, it doesn’t remove the body’s essential oils, which is a great benefit if it delivers.

How the Daily Cleanser is Different

While the Gentle Cleanser is suitable for sensitive skin, the Daily Cleanser is formulated for oily skins. This is one of the major differences between the two creams.

The reason why this is important is that one will be more effective for someone with oily skin but totally useless for someone with dry or sensitive skin.

This means that you shouldn’t use the Gentle cleanser if you have oily skin because it won’t work well. Instead, choose the Daily Cleanser. And vice versa. Aside from the price, this is an important thing to note if you want the cream to truly do its work.

Another very big difference between the two is that this one is specifically formulated for use on the face.

The Gentle Cleanser, on the other hand, can be used on the face, arms, neck, legs, and so on. So, if you’re looking for an all-purpose cream for your daily routine, the Gentle Cleanser is a better option.

Unlike the Gentle Cleanser, the Facial Cleanser is prepared for cleaning up excess dirt in your face. It’ll remove your makeup, oil, or the dirt on your face.

According to Cetaphil, your face should be clean but also refreshed. The Daily Facial Cleanser is a foaming cleanser, which means it produces foam when you begin rubbing it on your face.

Some people don’t like this but to cleanse the skin effectively, this is necessary. However, if you don’t like the foaming, you can go for the Gentle Cleanser.

With the Gentle Cleanser, you may not need to rinse your skin after applying it. However, you have to do so after using the Daily Cleanser.

This is because it produces a foaming residue and will leave your face rough if you don’t wash it off. Rinsing it doesn’t affect its effectiveness, though. So, you should not be afraid to do that.
