Is MIZON Cruelty-Free and Vegan in 2022?

Sharing is caring!

Yes, Mizon is a cruelty-free brand. Mizon is a Korean brand that also sells in the United Kingdom.

These two countries have laws that prevent testing on animals. When asked about the cruelty-free status of the MIZON Snail Repair Cream, the brand stated:

Our brand prides itself on being cruelty free. We do not electrocute our snails or salt them. We merely exercise them regularly on a tray and gather their mucine. We have a snail farm designated to our snail products. The snails in this farm are much larger than what you see in a garden. They are very pricy and their health can effect their mucin in a negative way; so we look after them with outmost care.

Also, as long as a brand does not sell its products in Mainland China or have physical stores there, it is cruelty-free.

Some brands also claim they are cruelty-free but they aren’t. Often, only research will tell. In this case, MIZON is cleared as part of the brands that don’t test on animals.

Is MIZON Vegan?

Going by the brand’s response above, MIZON is not 100% vegan. Just because a brand is cruelty-free does not necessarily means it is vegan. However, it should be noted that most cruelty-free brands are usually close to being 100% vegan. This is because most (but a few) of their products don’t include animal derived ingredients. So, if you’re looking for a cruelty-free brand, then MIZON is worth considering. However, if you want vegan products, it’ll be case by case where you examine the ingredients of individual products you want to buy to be sure it is vegan.

Is MIZON Certified Cruelty-Free?

None of the cruelty-free certification companies like PETA, Leaping Bunny, etc., has certified MIZON to be cruelty-free. However, research shows that the brand is indeed cruelty-free. Several other websites list them as being cruelty-free so you’re free to buy their products.
