Joico Ice Spiker Discontinued: True or False?

Sharing is caring!

Is Joico Ice Spiker truly discontinued?

I’d like to break it to you at this point that this product has been discontinued by the brand. If the Joico Ice Spiker is your favorite, you now have the only option of looking for an alternative.

You used to be able to switch to Disorder, from the same brand, but that has been discontinued as well. The Spiker was one of the best products on the market while it was alive.

Unfortunately, we don’t know what may have pushed Joico to stop making it. Like many other skincare brands, Joico may have done what’s best for its business.

And we are left in darkness, to fend for ourselves, and look for a substitute.

Joico Ice Spiker Alternative?

The best, and most popular, alternative there is to the Ice Spiker is Got2BeGlued Spiking Cream.

Unfortunately, a lot of those who have used it has noted that it doesn’t work as well as the Ice Spiker, which is a bummer if you’re bent on an alternative that works.

Fortunately, though, Got2BeGlued isn’t too bad as a few people have found it to be as effective as well. So, you may want to try it.

As regards other alternatives from Joico, this is what the brand says:

Unfortunately, the ICE Spiker Water Resistant Styling Glue has been discontinued. There is no replacement at this time.

It is only after extensive research by Management that the decision to discontinue a product is made. Unfortunately, as in most cases, this decision does not always please everyone.

We recommend Style & Finish JoiGel Firm applied to dry hair: https://www.joico.com/hair-care/joigel-firm/, and using a finishing spray such as, Style & Finish Power Spray, after applying JoiGel Firm, that may give you similar results: https://www.joico.com/hair-care/power-spray.

So, if you want a substitute from the same brand, you may want to try those ones.

Joico Ice Spiker vs Got2b Glued: Which is Better?

The first thing you need to know is that both products are good.

Some plus for the Got2b Glued is that it might help hold the front and back edge of your hair better than Ice Spiker.

Got2b Glued, is also true to its name, in that it’ll really cement your hair that you may only worry only after applying it and it’s time to clean up.

It’s so strong your regular shampoo may not remove it at the first pass.

One area in which some users have found Joico Ice Spiker to be better is styling or shaping the hair when applied.

You may be able to style your hair better with IS than Got2b Glued. Got2b Glued is also not friendly to sweat.

If you sweat, it’ll loosen up and may ruin everything for you. So, if you’re going to go out under the sun or engage in a tasking activity, then the cream isn’t for you.
