Picking the right shampoo for hair can be difficult. And requires a lot of research as the use of shampoos that do not suit hair type can lead to frizzy hair and dry scalp.

Before looking at various shampoos, let’s look at the brands’ history. This should provide a good intro into their process and how it affects their shampoo quality.

History of both Companies

Joico K- Pak Shampoo was founded by Sarah Jones over 30 years ago. She began her career as a hairdresser and quickly grew to become a top hair consultant.

The Joico Shampoo range includes the Joico K-Pak Color Therapy Shampoo, the Joico Color Endure Therapy, Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo. The line also includes Joico Color Endure Sulfate-Free Shampoo as well as others.

Biolage was founded in 1980 by husband and wife, Arnie and Sydell Miller. It is a subdivision of their company MATRIX. This is a professional hair care and hair color company located in the United States.

This is also a part of L’Oreal USA’s Professional Products Division.

The Biolage Shampoo range includes the Biolage Colorlast Shampoo, Biolage Volumebloom Shampoo for Fine Hair. This also includes the Biolage Scaplsync Anti-Dandruff Shampoo amongst others.

Joico vs Biolage Price

You can get the Joico K-Pak Color Therapy Shampoo at $$. The Joico Color Endure Therapy is available at similar prices. Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo goes for a higher price. And Joico Color Endure Sulfate-Free Shampoo is on sale at $, which is slightly cheaper.

While the Biolage Colorlast Shampoo, Biolage Volumebloom Shampoo for Fine Hair and the Biolage Scaplsync Anti-Dandruff Shampoo all go for $$ on Amazon.

So save for the Joico Color Endure Sulfate-Free Shampoo, the Biolage range of products would be a cheaper buy.

Effectiveness of the Shampoo

If you’re suffering from dry, brittle hair in need of moisture, Joico K-Pak Shampoo would be a great option for you.

Joico infuses much-needed moisture into the hair making it healthier, shiny and bouncy. Although there have been complaints of hair becoming oily over time so you might want to ration how often you use it.

The Biolage Shampoo is a great option for all hair types. It’s good, especially for treated hair. It also leaves hair soft and manageable.

Biolage is a fine shampoo and washes hair without stripping, effectively brightening dull hair. So for treated hair Biolage would be a better option while for dry hair Joico would do quite nicely.
