When you’re looking at selecting a facial cleanser, there are many things you need to look at. If you have sensitive skin, you should be more concerned about the ingredients.

And then go with the one that suits you best. For this reason, I’ll be going over some of the important things you might want to look at when considering both LRP and Cerave. This will include the ingredient, price, and more. Without wasting your time, let’s get into the review and comparison of the two:

La Roche Posay vs Cerave: Review of Products

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Gentle Face Cleanser

The La Roche-Posay Cleanser is a gentle, daily facial cleanser that helps in removing impurities from the face. It doesn’t make skin feel dry nor does it irritate the face when applied. If you have sensitive skin, this is a worthy cleanser to try out.

You can use it as your daily cleanser for removing facial impurities and dirt. It’ll remove eye makeup too. It’s non-fragrance and designed to relax your face and leave it feeling hydrated.

It’s a whitish substance with a solid texture. It is designed for people with normal, dry, sensitive skin. While you may have been eyeing the LRP Cleanser, you may discover your skin is oily and acne-prone so now your best option is the Cetaphil Cleanser. However, if you fall in the category of those this product is made for, then it’s a good one.

If you buy a lot of skincare products, I know the price will be very important to you. In this case, the La Roche-Posay Cleanser is inexpensive, which is a good thing if you’re tight on budget.

Verdict

It’s also easy to use. You can get the best result by using it in the morning and/or evening. Wet your skin with lukewarm water, paste liquid in your hand and rub to lather. Massage in a gentle, circular motion. Rinse and pat without rubbing.

One of the advantages products like Cerave will always have over others like the LRP is the availability. You’ll likely find it easy to replace your Cerave cleanser than replacing the LRP.

Generally, La Roche Posay products are more expensive than Cerave products. Say you like the LRP cleanser and you begin looking at other offerings from the brand. The exorbitant price may set you back.

CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser

As the name suggests, this cleanser is formulated for the face to remove dirt and debris that can take away facial beauty.

The advantage of using this hydrating facial cleanser is that your skin’s natural disposition will remain the same. But the impurities around the facial and eye area will be eliminated.

The Cerave Hydrating Cleanser is dermatologist recommended. It is formulated with hyaluronic acid and ceramides, which gives it a moisturizing effect.

The moisturizing agents in the cleanser help lock in moisture in the skin, restore the protective barrier and remove excess oil. Leaving your face clean, soft, and supple.

The cleanser also features MVE Delivery Technology, which slows down the effect of the moisturizing agents so it can last longer.

That’s why a single application can last up to 24 hours, allowing you to enjoy the goodness throughout your day.

It is non-irritating, non-comedogenic, and non-drying, which means it’s less likely to trigger allergic reactions when used on sensitive skin.

It’s also approved by the National Eczema Association, making it suitable for people suffering from eczema. It’s also a multi-application cleanser.

Though its primary use is on the face, it’ll also work on your body. It doesn’t contain soap, fragrance, paraben… most of the controversial ingredients.

Verdict

If you have combination/oily skin, this may not work really well for you. Many users with the same skin type declared that it was ineffective, and thus a was of money.

A host of others certifies it okay, which is not too encouraging going by how much popularity it has garnered. And how it’s being praised by dermatologists.

La Roche Posay vs Cerave: Product Comparison

The pricing of both cleansers is similar. The package isn’t different so there isn’t much to look at here. The notable ingredients you’ll find in both cleansers in glycerin and ceramide.

Also, I like that both are sulfate-free, allergen-free, fragrance-free, silicone-free. Only the Cerave cleanser contains alcohol, which is a drawback for those looking for an alcohol-free cleanser. ‘

In addition, Cerave contains Propylparaben and Methylparaben, both of which are potentially irritating. For what it’s worth, La Roche-Posay Cleanser is the most suitable for all skin types, except sensitive skin.

Cerave is only great for dry and sensitive skin. Therefore, if you have sensitive skin, you may want to look into Cerave. However, for any other skin type, the La Roche Posay Cleanser is your best choice.

Both cleansers have anti-aging and antiseptic properties, healing effects and can help soften the skin. Both contain antioxidant and moisturizing properties.

However, you may get better results with Cerave if you’re looking at combating acne. However, the Cerave Cleanser contains more ingredients, which increases the risk of irritation.
