Olaplex vs Moroccan Oil: Which is Better?

The major difference between Olaplex and Moroccan oil is that Olaplex is designed to repair damaged hair and link hair bonds.

While Moroccan oil is useful for defrizzing or adding shine to hair. Moroccan oil should not be used on hair damaged from the chemical process. Olaplex is more suitable for that.

Moroccan Oil

The Moroccan oil brand produces all sorts of hair treatments including shampoos and conditioners. The thing they’re most well-known for is Moroccan oil, which is a natural hair oil derived from Argan oil.

Moroccan Oil can be used to treat damaged hair and will make the hair more manageable. It is also recommended for all hair types. Moroccan Oil is natural oil. The absence of chemicals in Moroccan oil makes it safe.

The oil is a good moisturizer. You can apply it to dry hair to soften it or frizzy hair to defrizz.

Like your leave-in conditioner, Moroccan oil is a treatment that you leave in your hair. The only difference is that you don’t need to rinse it out of your hair. You use it when your hair is wet/damp, typically after coming out of the shower.

The application is similar to that of your regular shampoo, other than the fact that you won’t dip it into your hair. All you need is a dab on your fingers and then spread it through your hair and down your neck. You don’t want this to be too much so it doesn’t slip down to your scalp.

Moroccan oil can be used on all hair types. It’s also safe for use on natural and colored hair. The main advantage of this oil is that it makes your hair shiny and healthy.

You can get it on Amazon or directly from the manufacturer. It’s an affordable product, although it comes in different price points depending on the package.

What Is Olaplex Hair Perfector No 3 Treatment?

Olaplex is a hair care treatment that makes use of three specific ingredients that can help rebuild broken bonds in your hair.

The system is designed specifically for use on bleached or chemically processed hair and works by repairing single-strand breaks during chemical services.

Here’s a quick breakdown of how it works: Bond Multiplier that repairs hair. Bond Activator that strengthens new bonds. Single Bonded Hair Fiber Complex, which restores volume and shine.

How Do You Use It?

Before you use your treatment, make sure you shampoo your hair and wait for it to completely dry. Then, apply one bottle of Olaplex Hair Perfector No.3 evenly through all of your hair.

The product gets specially designed for chemically treated locks and will get washed out during your next washing cycle (usually after 10-12 shampoos).

After that, you’ll have to purchase another bottle if you want to continue using it. Luckily, though, a small amount goes a long way; most users report that one 1oz.

Should You Use It With Your Regular Shampoo?

Not only will you notice a difference in how soft your hair feels, but there will be less shedding and breakage as well.

That’s because products like Olaplex can minimize or eliminate breakage and even extend how long between appointments! It can also restore your color and bring back shine since many treatments cause fading or dullness.

About Moroccan Oil

Moroccan Oil stands tall among the natural oils for hair treatment and management. It is a natural oil that is traditionally extracted from the Argan tree seed found only in Morocco, North Africa.

Moroccan oil has been found to be effective in smoothening the hair, making it more manageable, and adding a lot of nutrients to it. It is rich in fatty acids, vitamin E, antioxidants, and several nutrients that benefit the hair.

As a purely natural hair product, it doesn’t pose any sort of danger to the hair. Instead of hurting the hair, it will protect it against UV rays and several airborne pollutants.

Final Words on Olaplex vs Moroccan Oil

One of the most visible parts of the body is the hair. Sometimes, it can also determine the first impression that people have of you.

If you have unkempt hair, people would think you don’t care about your health and general hygiene. However, if your hair is glossy and healthy, people will be more open to you.

Therefore, taking good care of your hair is something you should never take with a levity hand. Taking care of your hair also comes in different levels and stages. To look your best, you don’t have to go after the latest trending styles or colors.

But using the right products on your hair can give it all the flamboyancy that it needs. But adding color or styling your hair can take it even further, but that’s on a personal level.

Another thing that you need to consider is that sometimes your hair may not look its best because of certain problems like dryness, dandruff, etc. Choosing the right hair treatment can bring a positive effect not only to the scalp but also to your hair.

Fortunately, there are a lot of brands out there that can help you achieve the best results. A good example is the two brands that we’re writing on. If you’ve ever wondered if you should choose Olaplex or Moroccan oil, you’ll find this article useful for you.

    1. Hi Julz,

Can you tell me if your hair started falling off after you started using the Moroccan line? Or was it a condition before you started using the products?

    2. I find the mask to be more effective. I use my regular shampoo (something that’s paraben and sulphate free) then the Moroccan mask.

  2. The Bonding oil absolutely does have silicones in it, and the non-volatile type that doesn’t wash out easily.
