Oribe Foundation Mist vs Royal Blowout: Differences and Similarities

Sharing is caring!

Many people today face a wide variety of hair issues such as split ends and hair loss.

These challenges arise owing to a combination of various factors such as the use of certain harmful hair products, weather conditions, and genetics.

It is important, therefore, to protect the health of your hair and use products that boost and nourish its appearance.

The Oribe hair product series are essential to help one achieve this.

However, each product has its own unique features and specifications. So, what do each of these products bring to the table?

This article answers this question in relation to the Oribe Foundation Mist and Royal Blowout.

Oribe Foundation Mist vs Royal Blowout (Review)

Before fully comparing the features and benefits of both, let’s review them. We’ll look at the ingredients, the size of each one, what they promise to do, and most importantly, the price.

Let’s start:

Size and Prize

I checked the Oribe website and found the Royal Blowout to have both regular and travel sizes. The Foundation Mist, on the other hand, doesn’t have that option.

Also, the price of the Foundation Mist is significantly lower than that of the Royal Blowout.

At the time of this writing, I found the Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray costs $69, which is double the price of the Foundation Mist.

Personally, if you ask me to choose based on that, I’ll go for the Foundation Mists. You’ll not only save a great deal but also get a good product too.

Of course, you may want to read the other factors below as they are equally important. Sometimes, the price isn’t that important, especially if you don’t have a budget.

What they Do

According to Oribe, you can use the Foundation Mist to remove hair tangling as well as build shine in your hair.

You can also use it to improve the health of your hair as well as protect it from damages due to heat-styling.

Whereas Royal Blowout, it’s best for nourishing the hair, strengthening the hair, repairing split ends, and adding body and shine.

Therefore, if you have damaged hair or want to strengthen the strands, your best option is the Royal Blowout Spray.

However, if you are looking to protect your hair from future damages from heat-styling as well as keep your hair manageable and healthy, you should go for the Foundation Mist.

Ingredient List of Both

Foundation Mist:

Aqua/Water/Eau, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Xylitol, Cetrimonium Chloride, PPG-1-PEG-9 Lauryl Glycol Ether, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Glycerin, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract, Geranium Maculatum Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Starch, Polyquaternium-44, Panthenol, Benzophenone-4, Amodimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Trideceth-12, Styrene/VP Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Parfum/Fragrance, Benzyl Benzoate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool

Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray:

Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane, Phenyl Trimethicone, Bis-Hydroxyethoxypropyl Dimethicone, Bis-Hydroxy/Methoxy Amodimethicone, Parfum/Fragrance, Polysilicone-15, PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate, Silicone Quaternium-22, PPG-3 Myristyl Ether, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Tocopherol, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Benzyl Benzoate, Limonene, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Citral.

As you can see, they have a very similar ingredient list. However, no two products can be exactly the same.

Going further, the only thing that jumps at me on the list is glycerin. Where the Foundation contains glycerin but it is absent in the Royal Blowout.

Glycerin is important as it’s an emollient that keeps your hair hydrated and soft.

Oribe Foundation Mist vs Royal Blowout (Comparison)

For Hair Moisturization

Keeping your hair properly hydrated should be at the top of your list of hair care priorities. When your hair gets too dry, it becomes susceptible to breakages and other hair problems.

Oribe Foundation Mist contains Lavender and Geranium, which are known to provide protection to the hair by moisturizing it. It also has Vitamin B-5 which serves the same function.

Royal Blowout, on the other hand, is made with Rice Bran and extracts from Rosemary leaf, which hydrates hair.

Rice Bran contains high levels of Omega-3 and 6, fatty acids, which provide nourishment and moisturization for the hair.

Furthermore, it features Avocado oil, which prevents moisture from evaporating easily from the hair.

For Protecting Hair from Damage

Oribe Foundation Mist contains extracts from Green Tea which is known to protect against hair loss and split ends as well as provide nourishment for it.

This ingredient also promotes hair regrowth, making it suitable for people struggling with hair loss.

Royal Blowout’s Rice Bran and Rosemary Leaf extracts help it prevent hair breakage.

UV Protection

Every day, most people have to expose their hair to the sun as they go about their daily activities.

Not many, however, realize that the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays have serious negative effects on our hair.

These problems range from the weakening of the hair to increased dryness and change in hair color.

Oribe Foundation Mist features an anti-UV system consisting of several protective layers. This provides the product’s users with great protection against the harmful rays of the sun.

Royal Blowout contains Rice Bran which has a high amount of antioxidants which protects hair against UV rays. It also contains Polymer which provides a protective film for the hair.

For Hair Softening

Oribe Foundation Mist contains Pro-Vitamin B5 which makes hair softer and gives it a smoother appearance.

Sources from North Africa, Argan Oil is used in preparing the Royal Blowout hair product. This oil is rich in fatty acids and antioxidants, making it a great choice for people who want softer hair.

For Heat Protection

Heat can have very damaging effects on our hair. It drains the hair of moisture, leaving it vulnerable to damage. Royal Blowout contains Silicone, which is a low conductor of heat.

This ingredient, when applied, prevents heat from penetrating into the hair.

Conclusion

Both products contain ingredients that provide most of the essential hair care needs, such as moisturization and UV ray protection.

However, only Royal Blowout seems to have a heat protectant (silicon) among its ingredients.
