Are you looking for a comparison of Skinceuticals vs La Roche Posay? You’re on the right page.
Which would you go for if you’re presented with the two brands? Well… It depends. Both Skinceuticals and La Roche Posay have a lot of products to choose from.
So, the best way of comparing both and be able to choose a suitable product is to look at specific products from both brands.
This way, you’ll be able to see the price, effectiveness, ingredients, and quality of the products. And make comparisons where necessary.
This is how you get the most from reviews you come across and you’ll be able to decide on which one is better based on your unique conditions and budget.
In this article, I’ll be looking at the Skinceuticals C E Ferulic Serum and the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Balm.
Let’s get into the review:
Skinceuticals vs La Roche Posay: Which is Better?
Skinceuticals C E Ferulic Serum
Despite its price, the Skinceuticals C E Ferulic Serum is one of the most loved, positively reviewed serum out there.
I’ve reviewed a ton of them on this blog. And I haven’t seen any other one that’s as expensive as this. I’ve also not seen any other serum getting as many positive reviews (amid the thousands) from happy users.
The praise does not end with consumers alone. Dermatologists, pros, etc., love it too. So, if you’re looking for a serum with a mass appeal, you probably want to look into this product.
The notable ingredient in the Ferulic Serum is vitamin C.
There are nice advantages of using vitamin C. The most important of them is that it’s suitable for most skin types. It doesn’t matter if you have oily or dry sensitive skin, you can use it.
This doesn’t mean there won’t be any side effects, but you can expect it to be lower.
Another benefit is that of hydration. Vitamin C serum will help add moisture to your skin, which means it’s great for those with dry skin.
It’ll also help reduce hyperpigmentation and can prevent inflammation and redness of the skin. If your skin is exposed to the sun, you can wipe it up on your face and it’ll do its work.
Moreover, it’s an antioxidant. This means that damages to the skin cells resulting from exposure to UV rays. This also helps in lightening and evening out skin tone. The result is a radiating skin.
While the active ingredient is L-ascorbic acid, it also has 1% vitamin E and 0.5% ferulic acid, all of which work together to deliver amazing skin benefits.
L-ascorbic acid is the antioxidant property of vitamin C, which is responsible for collagen synthesis on the skin.
It’s proven by studies to have a beneficial effect on skin cells such as neutralizing free radicals. It can also reduce wrinkles and increase collagen production.
Ferulic acid has a positive effect on the skin by lowering the pH level, which makes it easy for the skin to absorb and use vitamin C.
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Balm
Just like Avene Cicalfate, Cicaplast from La Roche Posay is also a multi-use cream that helps with soothing dry skin and irritation. But it also helps to heal inflammation of the skin.
It has been used by teenagers who suffer from pimples and redness and have seen improvement in the texture and appearance of their skin in just a couple of days.
This product is a staple amongst people who suffer from redness and chapped skin.
However, some people have complained of their skin being clogged. It is therefore recommended that it should only be used on specific parts of the face or skin.
The Cicaplast is a good alternative to Cicalfate. It’s garnered a lot of excellent reviews and has been around for longer.
If you’re one of those who would prefer to go for the one with more review, then LRP Cicaplast Baume B5 might be for you. The downside, however, is the price. It’s quite pricey, and more so than the Avene Cicalfate.
The Cicaplast can be used on a combination and acne-prone skin.
Although it isn’t of a fine texture, it’s not as thick as the Cicalfate. It spreads easily on the skin and absorbs quickly and so can be used during the day. Also, if you have fussy or sensitive skin, this might be the best option for you.
Skinceuticals vs La Roche Posay
Knowing your skin type, the kind products available to you, and considering the ingredients in the product you’re buying is important.
When you know your skin type, you’ll be able to decide if it’s Skinceuticals or La Roche Posay that’s good for you.
And when you know the products for your skin type, it becomes easy to select out of the dozens of options available to you.
And most importantly, being familiar with ingredients helps you weed out the bad products.
Just because a brand is reputable doesn’t mean all their products are great. Some products don’t live up to the brand’s reputation!
When all of these are put into consideration, it becomes much easier to select the right product for your skin.
