Okay so Im a brunette..and I wanna get my hair done..I was wondering if its possible to dye my hair black,and on the same day,highlight it Blonde,like bleach blonde? Cause I really like that bold look I see on other girls.

So basically the question is,Is it possible to do that?

Yeah it possible, iv got jet black hair with platinum blonde highlights. Its great and give you the bold brave look your looking for......But its hard to get right so please dont attempt it yourself at home go get it dont with your stylist.

Have fun with that. The first time i did it, the black faded onto my blonde making it gray! i freaked. We use some sort of toner/clear coat thing now that keeps it from bleeding but i still hold my breath the first couple times im shampooing... plus you have to dye it so meticulously if you are doing piecy highlights. i have black from neck to crown then blonde in the middle all the way around..and brown on top so it meshes well and looks piecy. Its been a journey and im going back tomorrow to get something new.

im doing my hair like that. but youre better off being blonde first and lowlighting black parts. then dying some blonde parts pink. cause its easier to put black over blonde then it is to get blonde over black. i know from like 6 years experience.

It's going to be almost impossible to get your hair white blonde after dying it black. You'll need to lowlight the black instead. Any hair stylist worth their weight will know how to properly do this.

well i also wanted black and blonde hair but if you highlight ur hair it wont come out nice, but this is what i did, i went to salon and died my hair permedent black which doesnt fade away then i bought blond hair extentions and went to this lady she sew it in my hair and it looked hot i got sooo many compliments on it, so my i say u should try the same and the extentions lasted about 2 to 3 months and try to find someone cheap, well mine everything together cost about 200 hundred

once you die youre hair "black" you "wont" be able to die it again the same day and get the bold bright blonde. Black die is very hard to strip. you're best bet is to go to a salon and do it all at once. because as the person above said the black will bleed into the blonde making it look gray. good luck with that

Please girl, if you have the right stylist, she can take your brown hair five different colors all at the same time. I have mine colored Black and then have blonde highlights done too. Step one: Foil the blonde hightlights in. Step Two: color whats left black. Step three wait, step four wash..and you get the rest! I have NEVER had a problem with bleeding color and NEVER had to double color. Find the right person to do it for you and its all good! Lets not forget ladies, You get what you pay for!!

its mostly extension. this is too much of a hot mess tho just dye your hair black instead of bleaching it so it wont damage.. you probaly wont end up with this style long. anyways just buy some pink and blond extensions from sallys clip as much as you want on your hair and your done.. saves you a ton of money. my mom is a hair dresser she knows everything about this

do the blonde first cause its gonna b h3ll trying to lift the black dye plus ur natural color up to a platinum blonde and u may fry ur hair. put conditioner on the places you want blonde and wrap it in foil and so the black doesnt leak on the blonde. I would suggest you go to a professional stylist to have it done. That would be an awesome look if its done correctly.

im a hair dresser it is not POSSIBLE to do that unless you want your hair to fall out , but you can do it all in the same day, befor you even think about putting the black hair die on you have to foil you blonde highlights leave it on for 30 mins wash it out if its not the color then do it again , until you get the right color once you getthe right color blonde you want blow dry your hair , on your blonde pieces only put cholesteral its a conditioner , you get it at sallys , if u dont or cant get it us regular conditioner pack it on there then apply your hair die leave your hair die on for 30 mins then run it threw to you ends for 10 to 15 mins, when you go to wash it out hurry up and get ALL the black o0ut as fast as you can , blow dry it and thats how u get black and blonde , belivew me i no my hair looks exactly like that picture

Well If you want the look above you absolutely have to worry about your hair bleeding. I do hair! Black bleeds on to blonde and pink bleeds on to blonde. I suggest getting this done in a high end salon. Always always always wash your hair in cool to cold water after you acheive a color like this, because even after you leave the salon the hot water can open the cuticle on the hair shaft giving room for the bleeding and later on.. the mudd look. Also their aren't many hot colors out there like this girl has, well there is but you don't want ot mess with them I promise. I tried to cover a cobalt blue that just wouldn't quit and it took some time. I agree with the idea to throw in some extension highlights and brights into black hair. However I disagree on getting them done cheep. If you want quality your going to pay. I do Great Lengths hair extensions and they use a textile die to color the hair so you don't have any fading. I have clients who keep their extensions 4-6 months depending on how their hair grows. Good luck ladies I hope my insight will help those of you who are considering this dramatic sexy look!

don't dye your hair black then bleach it will be way more damaging. black is a b*^%# to bleach out. a stylist would probably foil your head to keep your hair as healthy as possible. doing foils at home we all know is a tricky and always ends up in a mess. i can see a stylist playing with the foils, lots of blonde with black lowlights and chunks. i don't know if you could do that at home without it bleeding?? maybe have a friend help you out?? your best bet to do it at home would be to go blonde, a all over bleach till you achieve the shade of blonde you want. not yellow but a shade above that like a pale yellow/white, remember to tone out the yellow with a toner i like the ultra violet toner leaves you with white hair then play with it with black dye... won't be easy doing your roots lol just go to a salon. foils will keep your hair so much more healthier than bleaching your whole head. stylists can play with the foils without the bleach touching your scalp and still give you that shade of blonde you're looking for. plus throw in your black chucks and foils, will look hothot!!

This is basically the look that I wanted...only more black with chunky platinum highlights. The only thing I have to say...NOT POSSIBLE with dyes!! Either that, or the lady that did my hair had no clue wtf she was doing. She died my hair all black first, THEN went to doing the highlights, and I couldn't get that platinum look that I sooooooo badly wanted. (The whole reason I even DID my hair was to get the platinum!) It came out several shades of blonde...heh...heh...heh. =(

I actually have jet black on the crown blonde in the middle and jet black again at the base of my neck. I had to go back to have it redone because when I washed my hair at home the black bled onto the blonde and it looked grey. The second time around they made me pay for a special conditioner to seal the black, but once again I am having the same problem. They are trying to say that I am putting something in my hair that is causing the black to bleed. All I use is TIGI S Factor Color Saavy (sulfate free) shampoo and conditioner and S Factor hairspray. Any ideas what may cause this to continue to happen????

Ok first of all has anyone heard of color block??..works awsome this is totally possible i dont give away my education for free so i would suggest going to a really good salon someone that specializes in color..someone said on here you get what you pay for..and their totally right on that..if you know what your doing and your good at what you do..theres ALWAYS a way for things to be done and ALWAYS a way to fix things except breakage..that goes without saying..theres a lot of wanna be cosmetologyst out there be careful who you let touch your hair...homecolor is bad news and people lie about it...stupid but they do...therefor you truly dont know what really lies undernieth...good luck guys!! I am a hair dresser and it is not possible to get to a platnum blond from black without completly frying ur hair. your best bet is to have a stylist put foils in using bleach and a 20 or 30 volume developer then applying the black color imbetween the foils this will be the best way to get what ur looking for without totaly killing ur hair.

it's actually not possible to dye your hair black first and than bleach it without completely killing the shit out of it. i'm a hair dresser and would advise that you just go into the salon and they can give you the look you want easy. :)

im a hairstylist.. and i can tell you it depends on the condition your hair is in.. if there is any damage you should not bleach it.. also its better to low light on blonde hair then to lift dark hair to a blonde state.. you would have to lift your hair 10 levels.. a black is a level 1 and a blonde is level 9-10, even if your hair is in good shape it may take a couple appointments to get your hair to a blonde.

1. STRIP YOUR HAIR WITH BLEACH IF ITS LIGHTER,

3. BUY A FUSCHIA HIGHLIGHTING KIT. PUT ON BLONDE EXTENSIONS IN AMOUNT YOU WANT.

4. DYE BLONDE HAIR EXTENSIONS BLACK AND PUT THEM WHERE DESIRED.

5. YOU CAN NORMALLY BUY COLOR PROTECTANT TO SEAL IN THE COLOR IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT.

6. BUY A TYPE OF LEAVE- IN OIL FROM A SALLYS FOR WHEN YOU STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR SO YOUR EXTENSIONS WILL LOOK BETTER WHEN THEY MEET YOUR REAL HAIR.

what you will need to do is hightlight the parts you want blonde then do inbetween color with black which means while the foils are still in your hair but the black all over the rest of your hair but make sure the foil packets do not slip out and blead into the black... leave the bleach on your hair until the black is done developing and rinse the black out BEFORE you take the foils out of your hair bc the black will turn the blonde a dengy color... you may need help... have a friend rinse it for you to make sure the foils do not slip out of your hair... bc you r going to be leaving the bleach on for so long only us a 10vol or 20vol developer for you highlights.... :)

at first do a champaign cocktail witch is 2oz develper 2oz bleach n shampoo..this will help take out somem color then after put a deep conditioner..NEVERRR!!! out black then try to be a blond no wouldnt work!! go blong were you want it i used prismalights blue with [DEPENDING THE HELTH OF YOUR HAIR} 50 volume or 40 to help get higher lifts and then put low lights of black were wanted..if blond is not color of desier you will need to hold of on the blak n blesch n tone to desier ..then do black highlights

i'm a hairstylist and would suggest to you that if your hair is the platinum that you want, don't actually color your hair with either black or pink. Depending on the condition of your hair, it will most likely bleed into it. what i would suggest is that you find a salon near you that does loop and lock extensions. they come in a tonne of different colours including black and pink, they are sealed so the colour doesn't bleed, and they are very resonably priced. The salon I work in charges 4$ per piece and 100 per hour to install. There is rarely a client who comes in with damaged hair, they are re-usable, and are very easy to maintain.

I would suggest you see a pro because the porosity and condition of your hair is the main varying factor as to whether you can achieve this look.

I know this conversation was a while ago, but I have dirty blonde hair and want to dye my hair with light blonde strips and dark brown strips. I know that this could easily go wrong and bleed when it gts washed BUT my question is...if I break it up into 2 different days (die the brown strips and wait a few days and a few washes, then go back and get the blonde strips in a few days later) will that work or will the blond bleed onto the brown?
