This textured hair style is best for:
Straight to wavy hair that is medium to thick textured. If your hair is bulky, have it texturized to add movement and reduce some of the weight.
Tips:
Start applying the product underneath and lunge your fingers right in there to make sure you're distributing product throughout, not just the surface.
Rake your fingers through, squeezing the hair between them. (exactly why there needs to be product in between each finger) Pull the hair around in different directions doing the raking/squeezing described above until you've sculpted the look you want.

This hair style is best for:
Thick to medium textured hair that is straight to wavy, with at least 3 inches of length.
Not good candidates for this style:
- Extremely curly hair (slicking back tight curls can result in a "finger waved" look. Not a good look for lads.)
- Thinning hair or dramatically receding hair lines.
- Fellas with long foreheads or very round faces.
Tips:
Apply product and work it throughout while hair is still slightly damp.
Use a wide tooth comb and sweep all hair straight back and down to the hair line in one motion. Don't make it too round. Use extra pressure at the sides to bring it closer to the head.
Leave a bit of height on top and texture throughout. The aim is not to flatten the hair completely, which is a very severe look, nor are we crafting a helmet.
If the comb marks don't appeal to you, add a bit of interest by running your finger through it after combing.

This hair style is best for:
Wavy to curly hair. Obvious, I suppose.
Tips:
Since you're reading this, I'll assume you know that wavy/curly guys hair styles can be temperamental. Here are some things you can do to elicit cooperation...
- Use a moisturizing conditioner
- Rinse conditioner with cool water (smooths the hair shaft)
- Squeeze hair dry. Don't rub.
- Apply anti-humectant pomade if humidity is a factor
- Use cream styling products for added moisture
- Resist touching your hair while it's drying

Best for:
Fine to thick hair ranging from straight to curly. The mohawk inspired shapes of today's guys hair styles lends well to nearly all hair types.
Tips:
Getting this look is all about using the right product, in the right direction. The length can range from very short to several inches. Short faux hawk hair styles can be achieved with
clays, waxes or muds. Mid-lenths will require a strong hold gel. Whatever the length, there's a distinct
move it to the middle trend sweeping the globe in mens hair. It really is as simple as that. Oh, and use a blow dryer to direct the hair while combing/lifting with your fingers.

Best for:
Fine to medium textured hair that is straight or slightly wavy.
Tips:
A good haircut is critical for this style to look deliberate. Find a stylist who does alot of "texture cutting", or "slicing". The length can vary at the sides, ranging from short-ish (shown here), to almost blunt around the edges.
Simply sweep some styling cream through (and underneath) and comb the hair in the direction you want it to lay. Run your fingers through it as it's drying, or while you blow dry for added texture. Once the hair is dry, sweep the same product through, squeezing the hair between your fingers and lifting a bit in the top sections.
Thinking of a new style? But will it look good on you?!
Try it out without the commitment.
