How do i make my hair dirty blonde?

My hair is dark but thats B&W

How do i make my hair dirty blonde when im dark haired , with out going to a hair dresser?

I just want a cheaper way of doin it my hairdresser was goin 2 chager me near 500 dollars PLEASE HELP?

Need to know this ASAP ?

Difficult...

Hi Jessica,

Dirty blonde is, unfortunately, extremely difficult to achieve when you're starting with dark hair. Because of the strong orange underlying pigments in your hair, you'll have trouble neutralizing those tones to get the "ash" tone of a dirty blonde color. Especially with the limits of drugstore color.

The best way to go about it is to bleach out your hair to the pale yellow stage and get ALL of the orange pigments out, then tone with an ash based color. I wouldn't recommend the process. The maintenance would be a nightmare... nevermind the damage to your hair.

AND, there's no guarantee you'd be happy with how the color looks on you after all that work. If you sat in my chair and asked me to do that, I'd advise against it.

A better option, IMO, would be to add some (ash) blonde highlights and keep some of the dark tones in your hair. It would look more natural, the maintenance wouldn't be such a pain, and you could color-back more easily than if you do an all-over blonde.

i have black dyed hair n tried to go blonde and it went orange and felt like straw, i had basically killed my hair, i put a dark brown on top and my hair felt great again, dont do it, brunette is a gorgeous colour anyw ay, dont go all stereotype on us :D x

just go and buy some cheap hair dye and follow the easy directions. Make sure its the coler you want. Im a 7th grader, so if it doesn't work no hard feelings. Good luck!!!!! :)

I went dirty blond.. and my hair is very dark!

I went dirty blond but I will be honest and tell you that I started out by going to a professional and started getting highlights.. I'd go back when my roots began to show and then I'd get lighter highlights. After a while, not only did I learn how to do foils on myself (and with a quick trip to Sally's beauty store) but I thought it looked more realistic than someone that tries to dye their entire head ONE strange blondish-orange color BLEH! I had highlights and my dark hair created low lights.

changing dark blonde hair cheap

dont waste your time bleaching because it will fry your hair. there are products out in beauty supply places that will lighten your hair gradually without drying it. i was a medium brown and went to medium blonde using luminize hair lightner 10 minutes a week for 4 weeks but since you are a dark blonde it wont take as long. this product is made by clariol and costs about 5-10 dollars for kit and comes in ash clear and gold and red base depending on your hair now how dry or oily it is you should always do deep conditioning 1 or 2 times a week. if you decide to try it good luck

i did this!

my hair was really dark brown, and i used the next to lightest blonde dye they had. like not bleach, but the one before it, and it turned out REALLY pretty.
like i hated it at first but looking back it's gorgeous.
it turned out to be like REALLY light brown, and almost dark blonde. it's really cute.
i used garnier nutrisse Camomile 100.
it worked good, but you're hair looks darker so you might want to use the Blonde Soft Bleach 101.
but it is bleach.
but the camomile looked good!
and i used 1 dye, but left it in for a pretty long time. (approx. 40 mins)

They always sell like stuff at stores that just keep your hair blonde like after you go swimming or whatever and I know someone who used it on their dark hair and now they have dirty blonde hair without having to spend a lot or see a proffesional.

I hate my dirty Blonde hair!!! I'm using chamomile tea to make my hair completely blonde...not sure how It would work for you though....
