Fortunately, there are a lot of alternatives from Dove that you can go for and I’ll be mentioning a few of these in the following paragraphs. 

A lot of people are upset, but this isn’t the first time a brand will discontinue a product. So, you’ll have to look for alternatives.

Surprisingly, the most common response from brands is either that the product isn’t selling enough or not turning a profit for the brand.

In this case, I found a response from the brand saying they discontinued the product.

Dove DermaSeries Body Wash Alternatives?

Fortunately, there are quite a number of alternatives from Dove. Remember, Dove is primarily a skincare brand so we’re bound to find a lot of alternative body washes.

In fact, they are in excess and available in a variety of stores online and offline.

The first one I found is on Amazon. The Dove Instant Foaming Body Wash for Soft, Smooth Skin. This one can be ordered from Walmart, CVS, and Walgreens, at the time of writing this article.

It should be available in other online retail stores too and can be ordered directly from the brand’s website. There is also the Dove Shower Foam Hypoallergenic Body Wash, which is available on eBay.

Beware though, the price there is always very high and it would seem as if only discontinued products are available there.

The next one is Dove Beauty Deep Moisture Shower Foam Body Wash, which is available at Target.

How Do You Know When a Body Lotion is Discontinued?

And this doesn’t just apply to body lotions. It can also be shampoos, conditioners, moisturizers, and any skincare product.

Therefore, if you find any of your favorite products have been discontinued by the brand, the following may apply:

There are a lot of signs that can lead you to believe a skin care product is no longer in production. The first sign is usually scarcity but not always.

The other, and very common, is for the manufacturer to state that it has been discontinued.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t always happen as many brands don’t say when they are stopping a product.

They just stop it and you’ll only find out when the product becomes unavailable and you ask the brand.

Also, there are quite a few reasons a brand may decide to stop a product. It may be due to poor sales or to allow for a new product.

What to do then?

The best you can do is to look for alternatives. Usually, there will be an alternative product that can serve as a substitute for the discontinued one.

You can ask the manufacturer if it has a close substitute that you can switch to. However, if there is none, you can look further in the market for other brands.

You can also look at eBay, which usually has discontinued products on sale (after the manufacturer has stopped making them) but they can be quite expensive.
