Has the St. Ives body lotion been discontinued? Yes, the St. Ives lotion has been discontinued by the brand.

A lot of people are upset, but this isn’t the first time a brand will discontinue a product. So, you’ll have to look for alternatives.

It would seem like a lot of people like the St. Ives lotion.

Surprisingly, the most common response from brands is either that the product isn’t selling enough or not turning a profit for the brand.

In this case, I couldn’t find a response from the brand saying why they discontinued the product. So, that may be the end of it and is probably not coming back!

St. Ives Lotion Alternatives?

The closest I found is the St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer, which is available on Amazon.

I also found the lotion on Target, which is one of the popular options for getting the lotion. You can also find similar lotions on eBay and similar eCommerce websites. 

The other one is St. Ives Daily Hydrating Vitamin E & Avocado Body Lotion. Another one is St. Ives Naturally Soothing Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Lotion. There will be others too if you look well.

I’m finding some references to the product being back in the market. So many people have had difficulty finding it in stores as well as online. However, during my search I found on Amazon, Target, as well as the St. Ives website. So, if you want to confirm, go to the official website first if you’re ordering online. 

How Do You Know When a Body Lotion is Discontinued?

And this doesn’t just apply to body lotions. It can also be shampoos, conditioners, moisturizers, and any skincare product.

Therefore, if you find any of your favorite products have been discontinued by the brand, the following may apply:

There are a lot of signs that can lead you to believe a skin care product is no longer in production. The first sign is usually scarcity but not always.

The other, and very common, is for the manufacturer to state that it has been discontinued.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t always happen as many brands don’t say when they are stopping a product.

They just stop it and you’ll only find out when the product becomes unavailable and you ask the brand.

Also, there are quite a few reasons a brand may decide to stop a product. It may be due to poor sales or to allow for a new product.

What to do then?

The best you can do is to look for alternatives. Usually, there will be an alternative product that can serve as a substitute for the discontinued one.

You can ask the manufacturer if it has a close substitute that you can switch to. However, if there is none, you can look further in the market for other brands.

There are some websites that are focused on just providing alternatives to discontinued products.

You can also look at eBay, which usually has discontinued products on sale (after the manufacturer has stopped making them) but they can be quite expensive.
