The shampoo is packed with rice starch and volcanic minerals, which help soak up unwanted oil. It features an applicator that’s easy to use, which means anyone can apply it.

It’s cruelty-free, gluten-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, and SLS/SLE-free…all rhythm to everyone’s ear.

I also like that the ingredient list isn’t as bulky as that of Oribe, which is always a plus. The lower the number of ingredients, the lower the risk of being exposed to allergens.

Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo isn’t like your typical shampoo. It doesn’t have most of the possible side effects of regular shampoos, such as buildup.

It also lets you shampoo less before styling your hair, which is good for your hair in the long run.

Although slightly different from a clarifying shampoo, dry shampoos like the Gold Lust help remove oil, impurities, and dirt from hair. All thanks to the translucent powder in the shampoo.

It also contains miscellaneous ingredients that help soothe the scalp and increase hair strength.

The Gold Lust Dry Shampoo has a perfect blend of bamboo and rice silk, which helps soften and strengthen the hair.

It uses a translucent starch blend to absorb oil so the hair is feeling soft and clean. It doesn’t leave that white or flakiness like OUAI, which is good for overall hair health.

Unlike Oribe’s Dry Texturizer, this shampoo doesn’t texture the hair or add grit.

Oribe vs OUAI Shampoo Comparison

Ingredients

One thing I like about both shampoos is that they’re cruelty-free, which means their ingredients are not tested on animals.

But also that they are free from all the usual suspects. Think silicone, paraben, SLS/SLE, gluten, etc.

In addition to that, OUAI features a lean ingredient list, which is always a plus, while the Gold Lust is a full-ful list of ingredients.

That, unfortunately, can increase the chances of allergens which is not very good if you have a sensitive scalp.

Price and Uses

In terms of prices, the Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo is more expensive than the OUAI Dry Shampoo.

A 1.3 oz Oribe Shampoo is almost 23 dollars while a bigger, 2 oz OUAI Dry Shampoo is only 14 dollars. You can seriously save if you go for OUAI.

In addition to that, OUAI Dry Shampoo is for adding volume to oily, wavy, or curly hair while the Oribe Dry Shampoo is for fortifying and nurturing dry, damaged hair.

They both remove oil and dirt from the scalp with little difference. And both are suitable for color-treated and chemically-treated hair.

Package

The Oribe Gold Lust bottle is made out of a can just OUAI is carved out of the same material. I don’t know which one will last longer but I know that metal is more easily recyclable than plastic.

Maybe you aren’t thinking about global warming or the environment but being able to use that bottle for something else is something I value.

So, it’s good to see they are both recyclable.

The only difference is that the Gold Lust is in black with a strip of yellow while the OUAI, like most of their other products, is in all-white with black writings on the bottle.

OUAI vs Oribe Texturizing Spray

OUAI Texturizing Hair Spray

The OUAI Texturizing Hair Spray is made with volcanic minerals, the ingredient that sucks out hair oils and freshens up the hair.

It’s lightweight and able to create extreme texture to the hair between washes. It is suitable for use on all hair types so everyone has a chance to try it out.

Like the OUAI Dry Shampoo, it’s free from parabens, silicones, and other chemical substances.

Gold Lust Texturizing Spray

The Gold Lust Texturizing Spray is often described as a multitasker because of how it works.

It’s part of the Gold Lust with a patented formula that is supposed to remove excess hair at the root, cleaning the hair and leaving behind a signature scent that Oribe is popular for.

The spray features color-protecting ingredients to keep hair color intact.

It also contains polymers that add volume to hair as well as UV-protectors to keep your hair from damage caused by harmful UV rays.

Comparison

The Gold Lust Spray is specifically designed to add grip and body to hair while keeping the hair fresh and clean.

Similar to the Gold Bond, OUAI Texturizing Spray adds volume to the hair and improves hair texture. If your hair is looking limp, weak, or boring, wipe up the OUAI Texturizing Spray.

It’ll define your curls while adding volume along the way.

On its own, the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray is supposed to be used when you’re planning an updo and to add texture before rolling up the hair.
