Clinique vs Shiseido: Which Should You Go for?

Sharing is caring!

Clinique vs Shiseido, which is better? If you have this question or know someone who has, read this article to find out the answer!

Clinique and Shiseido are very popular skincare and cosmetic brands. Both of which come to mind when you’re thinking about eye serum or facial creams.

While Clinique is an American brand, under the aegis of the Estee Lauder Companies, Shiseido is Japanese.

So, before going deep into the article, it’s important to point out something about the availability of their products.

The fact that one brand is produced in Japan and the other in America doesn’t mean you can’t get any of them even if you’re not in the same country.

If you’re in the US and you prefer Shiseido, there are many online stores that have Shiseido products that you can order from. A good example is Amazon.com.

Having said that, I want to preface this comparison article with the fact that I’ll be reviewing eye serums from both brands.

Both brands make good eye serums and a lot of people want to know which of them is good for them. If you’re looking for other cosmetic products, you may check other articles where I compare them.

The comparison will focus on the Shiseido Benefiance NutriPerfect Eye Serum and the Clinique All About Eyes Serum, two of which are very popular products.

Let’s get started:

Clinique vs Shiseido: Quick Comparison

The Benefiance NutriPerfect is more expensive than the Clinique All About Eyes Serum. As you can see, Clinique’s eye serum is a better choice if you’re looking for the most affordable between the two.

They’re both available in the same size. You can easily travel with them if that’s your thing.

Clinique vs Shiseido: Which is Better?

To make it easy to choose one, it’s better we look at the two separately. This way, you can see what each of the serums can do for you.

Shiseido Benefiance NutriPerfect Eye Serum

Clinique vs Shiseido
As mentioned above, this eye serum is expensive. However, that shouldn’t stop you from purchasing it unless you’re looking for something affordable.

The key ingredient in the serum is Shiseido’s exclusive Carnosine DP, which helps limits the effect of environmental aggressors on the skin. It also contains Multivitamin BCE & P, which helps to fortify the skin.

It’s replenishing formula can help with wrinkles and dark circles around the eye area. It also absorbs quickly so you don’t have to go out with a messy face. Moreover, applying other creams on it is going to be smooth.

The serum doesn’t have alcohol, fragrances, parabens, gluten, allergens, or polyethylene glycol. The absence of all these means less irritation and a cleaner appearance.

In addition, the serum has anti-aging properties, provides UV protection, and helps improves skin texture.

Other benefits include blockage of free radicals, skin hydration, and bacteria prevention. It’s lightweight too. And many people reported that it helps soften the delicate skin around the eyes.

In terms of packaging, it’s a bit bulky. This is something that’s common with most products from Asia, so it shouldn’t be a surprise if you decide to get it.

A few people mentioned there isn’t any significant improvement in their fine lines. Although a lot more people claimed to have seen improvement.

And obviously, the price tag. It’s quite pricey, especially in comparison to the Clinique Eye Serum.

Clinique All About Eyes Serum

Clinique vs Shiseido

This is a cheaper alternative to the Shiseido eye serum. It’s a unisex serum and is suitable for all skin types. The serum is available in 0.5 ounces and doesn’t contain parabens or sulfates.

It’s also opthalmologist tested.

While going through reviews, a lot of people don’t seem to see improvement in their eye puffiness, thus rendering the product useless. Of course, there are a few who see a reduction in the eye bags, but that’s not significant.

Also, there isn’t anything special about the serum. It’s an ordinary product that’s designed more to massage the eye. It has a rollerball that rolls over the swell under the eye.

According to the manufacturer, it’s supposed to roll away the puffiness. But it seems the product failed to do that in the case of many people.

Final Verdict

While the Shiseido is more expensive, I’ll recommend it over the Clinique if you can afford it. If not, you may want to look over other serums around unless you want to try Clinique to see if it’s going to work for you.
