Lancome

Inspired by the French’s gracefulness, Lancome offers beauty products that range from cosmetics, fragrances, and skincare. Lancome’s skincare line consists of anti-aging creams, eye creams, makeup remover, and more.

Most of the products are suitable for every age, and for both men and women. Everything about the products screams French grandeur.

The Lancome symbol defines femininity and beauty, and it’s also because of the brand founder’s obsession with roses.

Product Ingredients

Even though the brand has been in the beauty industry for some time now, there is an issue with the formulation of the products primarily from the skincare range.

Some of the products contain synthetic fragrances, which can aggravate the skin.

Effectiveness

Lancome eye cream, for example, under-deliver and are a bit overpriced. The creams, however, do show results.

This is mostly due to synthetic ingredients added to help produce short-term healthy-looking skin rather than truly nourishing it.

Not A Cruelty-Free Brand

Unfortunately, this high-end brand is not a cruelty-free company.

They have tested their products in China, which requires any foreign cosmetic brands to test their products on animals before approving the brand to enter the Chinese market.

Though they have not used animals for years now, by selling their product in China, they can’t be considered a cruelty-free company.

Estee Lauder

The company was officially launched in 1946. Lauder introduced her product by giving out free samples which was something unusual at the

Today, the Estee Lauder brand sells a full range of beauty products from skincare to makeup to fragrances.

Lancôme vs Estée Lauder Serum

Estée Lauder and Lancôme are both popular beauty essentials manufacturers. They make perfumes, skincare products, and cosmetics that a lot of women have grown to love.

These names are already on top of the list when it comes to choosing your favorite moisturizer or even getting a new mascara.

Both manufacturers are also constantly creating and researching to bring you the best product that can provide a solution to skin aging as well as for other skin problems.

Having discussed the general outlook of the two companies, I want to look at how their serum competes. I’ve reviewed their foundations before.

But here, I’ll be comparing the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair and Lancôme Advanced Genifiqu-e Youth Activating Serum.

If you’ve been contemplating your next serum from this brand, then this should be a good read for you.

ESTEE LAUDER Advanced Night Repair

When it comes to anti-aging serum, both Estée Lauder and Lancôme have come up with their own distinct formula. Both serums look fancy and you will know that you’re really getting the real deal but in a bottle.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair is a serum that will hydrate, minimize the fine lines and wrinkles. And it can make your skin smoother too. It has ChronoluxCB Technology which works while you sleep at night.

The technology is designed to enhance skin repair by combining the body’s repair mechanism with the AGT. This is another repair process that restores visible damage from foreign objects from the environment.

Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Serum

On the other hand, Lancôme Advanced Genifique contains biotechnology-derived ingredients which make this serum amazingly powerful. It can improve your skin’s texture, elasticity, clarity, firmness, radiance, sagginess, fine lines, and wrinkles.

Lancôme Advanced Genifique will add moisture and makes your skin silky smooth to the touch. It’s a lightweight serum that can easily be absorbed by your skin. This product is best for people with oily, dry, or acne-prone skin.

Also:

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair works perfectly with oily and acne-prone skin. It can absorb quickly so you have to use it before putting in your moisturizer. It doesn’t leave any residue and will not irritate your skin but will make your skin glow.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair has a signature smell that can fade after a few minutes upon application. It will give you firmer and softer skin that will look perfect even without your makeup on.

Lancôme Advanced Genifique, however, is a clear serum that will also work on your dark spots. It has a self-loading dropper that will give you the right dose every time you have to apply the product.

So, if you have dark spots, you should look consider checking out Lancôme.

Lancôme vs Estée Lauder Anti-Aging

Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging Creme

There are tons of anti-aging creams out there. The Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging Creme is one of these. While it’s expensive, a lot of users have expressed their pleasure over its effectiveness.

Aside from aiding in rejuvenating youthful skin, it can also moisturize dry skin, as well as help, eliminate wrinkles. It’s also lightweight, which means you’ll likely not notice it when you use it during the day.

Fortunately, it can be applied daily, in the morning and at night. And the best time to put it on is after your repair serum. This is a good anti-aging cream from Estee Lauder if you don’t mind the price.

Update: May 2020

At the moment, I couldn’t find a comparable anti-aging product from Lancome. I’ll keep search and update this article when I come across one.

Now, let’s go and compare some of their foundations!

Lancôme vs Estée Lauder Foundations

Estee Lauder Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Makeup vs Lancome Renergie Lift Makeup Foundation

Lancome vs Estee Lauder Foundation

The next on our list is the Perfectionist foundation from Estee Lauder and the Renergie Lift from Lancome. How do they compare and which one should you go for?

Let’s discuss that:

As usual, the first thing I looked at is the price of both products. The Lancome Renergie Lift is extremely expensive, with almost $15 difference from the Estee Lauder Perfectionist. Both are very good products so this is a significant difference.

While Lancome claims to come with skin-friendly ingredients, Estee Lauder promises you a youthful and radiant look and protection from UV rays.

Although Lancome is available in only two color variants, there are over 10 colors available for Estee Lauder that you can choose from. If you take your overall look and style very important, you may want to go for Estee Lauder for this reason.

Note that:

Many users also commend both products for their great coverage. Accordingly, some love the fact that the Estee Lauder Perfectionist isn’t too heavy but quite creamy, which makes it possible for it to even out the skin tone.

Another thing worthy of note is that the Lancome Renergie might be discontinued anytime soon while Estee Lauder is still on the scene. As a result, you may only be able to get that by the time you’re reading this article.

That’s an important note to have at the back of your mind as you read this section.

Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24h Makeup All Skin Types vs Estée Lauder Maximum Cover Camouflage Makeup

Lancome vs Estee Lauder Foundation

A brief look at the Lancôme Teint Idole and the Estée Lauder Double Wear will reveal some similarities that might make it difficult to choose between them.

However, there are a lot of differences that make them suitable for slightly different purposes. As a result, it becomes easier to go for one that suits your situation.

The first thing I’ll mention is that the Estée Lauder foundation is more expensive than the Lancôme Teint Idole. The price differential is not by a large margin and they both cost more than forty US dollars.

But if you want to save some dollars, I recommend you go for the Lancôme Teint Idole.

Now:

Some users noticed that the Estée Lauder gives a matte finish after the application, whereas, the Lancôme leaves a smooth, glossy coat.

While Estée Lauder is suitable for both dry and oily skin, the Lancôme may be more suitable for sensitive skin as it doesn’t dry it.

If you have Melasma, Estée Lauder can help you cover it up completely. It can also help you cover adult scars and acne.

But if you’re looking for that foundation that’s free from fragrance, oil, and well suited to sensitive skin, then the Teint Idole is your best choice. It’s non-comedogenic and transfer-free.

User Reviews and Opinions

Many users love the Lancôme for not wearing out throughout the day while also doing well on oily skin. The Estée Lauder, on the other hand, is recommended for anyone that wants to camouflage skin imperfections.

The Double Wear Makeup also comes in a lot of varieties and colors while the Lancome is only available in one color.

So:

If you’re looking to get a set so you can interchange the color to match different styles, then Estee Lauder is your best choice. Not only is it lightweight but it can easily come off on your clothing if it stains it.

Compared to Lancôme, I think Estée Lauder is more popular among users. This doesn’t mean it’s better but at least you know it has worked for a lot more people in helping to make their skin luminous and healthy-looking.

Verdict

Finally, both are worth the money, especially if you’re able to achieve exactly what you’re buying them for. The Estee Lauder is most suitable for covering up imperfections on the skin while the Lancome is a better foundation for all skin types.

Conclusion

The bottom line is that both Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair and Lancôme Advanced Genifique can give you younger and smoother-looking skin.

The effect seems to be almost the same but it will still depend on your skin’s reaction to the product.

If you have dark spots, check out Lancôme. But if you’re looking to eliminate fine lines or wrinkles, then try Estée Lauder.

One Comment

  1. Lancome has the Absolue, Renergie and Genifique brands, all dealing with anti-aging. In terms of money, the closest to Estee Lauder’s Revitalizing Supreme is the Renergie Lift Multi-Action series.
I’ve used both and loved both, however have settled with Lancome, as their incentive program is better, at least in Canada, where I live, compared to Estee Lauder which is run by money hungry people, and the incentives are minimal…For the money spent, you get more bang from Lancome.
