Tresemme vs L’Oreal: Hair Loss Shampoo Comparison

Tresemme vs L'Oreal
Which One Is Better — Black or Red?

Tresemme Hair Fall Defense Shampoo

This is currently the most popular hair loss shampoo from Tresemme. It’s a hair fall shampoo that’s fortified with ingredients that can help you grow your hair stronger, longer, and more manageable.

You can also use it for repairing damaged hair as well as treatment for preventing further hair loss. It comes in a press cap bottle that’s easy to store and travel with.

What Do You Love About this Shampoo?

Now hear this:

While this is a good shampoo for hair loss, it should not be used on chemically treated hair. This is because it can react to such conditioned hair, and as such, may not be effective.

Also, the shampoo can be used for mild dandruff but not when it’s severe. This can help you stop further hair fall, but don’t take it as the ultimate solution for hair growth.

And…

Fortunately, The Tresemme Hair Fall Defense Shampoo doesn’t have side effects. It can give you professional results even when you use it at home.

L’Oreal Professional Shampoo for Hair Fall

l'oreal or tresemme
This is a L’Oreal Shampoo…Have You Tried It?

The L’Oreal Professional Shampoo for Hair Fall claims that it can help you reduce hair breakage and make it stronger and healthier.

It’s created for use on fragile or weak hair and is supposed to replenish it and add radiance and strength. If this sounds like what you’re looking for, you should consider this shampoo.

But:

You should know that the shampoo contains parabens and sulfates. So, if you’re looking for a chemically-free shampoo, you cannot use this one.

Now, let’s compare – which is better?

The Tresemme Hair Fall Defense Shampoo is great for those who are experiencing hair fall but not safe enough to be used on colored/permed hair.

The L’Oreal Professional Shampoo has similar claims but it comes with parabens and sulfate, which makes it unusable for someone looking for 100% natural shampoo.

Tresemme vs L’Oreal: Dandruff Shampoo Comparison

L’Oréal Paris EverFresh Antidandruff Sulfate-Free Shampoo

Just like Head and Shoulders, L’Oreal also makes some nice anti-dandruff shampoos. Their EverFresh Sulfate-free shampoo is one of those.

Now here is the benefit:

The thing I like about this shampoo is that it is safe for colored hair. I’m even surprised that the product is sulfate-free, giving that most of the products have come across from this brand either contain sulfate or paraben.

Suffering from Dandruff? Have You Checked this?

Although sulfate helps in breaking down the dirt and build-up in the scalp, it can be particularly harsh on permed hair. But since this doesn’t contain it, you can use it safely on your relaxed hair.

If you’re looking for color-safe dandruff shampoo, you should check this out.

Fortunately, it’s very cheap, just like the many other products from L’Oreal. In addition to using this for dandruff, you can use it for removing hair residue and revitalizing your scalp.

Finally, what makes many people excited about this product is because it’s vegan, free from paraben, and gentle on color.

TRESemme Smooth & Silky Shampoo and Conditioner Set

alternative to tresemme shampoo
Do You Trust in Black Shampoos?

Unlike L’Oreal, Tresemme doesn’t have specific shampoos for dandruff. The best one I could find is this combo, which is not even fortified for dandruff.

Also, it’s priced higher than the L’Oreal antidandruff shampoo. That’s not too bad, considering that it comes in a shampoo and conditioner set.

So, if you always feel a dry sensation from shampooing, you can add the conditioner to your regime for a moisturizing effect.

Fortunately, the shampoo and conditioner combo comes with Moroccan Argan oil and can be gentle on dry, brittle hair. Also, it’s marketed as being able to smoothen your hair and give it a silky feeling.

Comparison of L’Oreal and Tresemme Shampoo

If you’re looking for an affordable, chemically-free shampoo for your hair, I’ll recommend the L’Oreal Antidandruff Shampoo.

As you can see from the name, it’s also an effective treatment of dandruff.

On the other hand, if you want smooth and silky hair, go with Tresemme Shampoo. Just know that it’s more expensive and may not work for dandruff.

Which Brand Is Good for Colored Hair?

Tell me, what’s the color of your hair? Brown?

If so, keep reading:

If you’ve conditioned your hair, you need to source a color-safe shampoo. For that, I’ll recommend you go with L’Oreal. However, you need to be careful when choosing a product from them.

The reason is because of their frequent use of chemicals in their product. If you choose the one in this article, there is no problem. It’s free from chemicals.

What You Should Know When Selecting a Brand

Now, here is a point to ponder on:

When choosing a shampoo or a body lotion, you should consider your skin and hair type. If the product doesn’t suit your skin or hair, it may not work well for you.

That’s why shampoo that worked perfectly for your friend may not work for you. As you know, most brands have customers who love their products the way they are.

And…

Sometimes, you just have to pick a brand that answers your needs in a unique way. Also, when you choose to buy shampoo from either L’Oreal or Tresemme, you should consider buying a conditioner from the same brand.

From what I’ve found with many users, they don’t particularly recommend both of these brands for the reason that they’re chemically loaded.

But as I stated above, the L’Oreal antidandruff shampoo is free from chemicals, so it should be safe to use. Another thing to consider is your diet.

Finally…finally:

If you have a good diet, you’ll need fewer products to use on your hair. But this is a personal decision. Sometimes, diet isn’t enough or you may not even have the capacity to effect any change now.

    1. Thanks Mike. But being bald isn’t even a bad thing. I’m also bald, for your information but it fits my physique so much I don’t know I’ll be ugly if I’m not bald. Please come back later. We’ll have more articles for you to read.

  2. These are popular brands, have you checked out any indie clean beauty brands though? Reading ingredients labels are so important to me as a person with sensitive skin and a baby to worry for I always am looking for clean ingredients one popular brand such as Pantene JUST made a cleaner brand like Aveeno for shampoos and conditioners!

    1. Hi Hoang, thanks for stopping by.

Reading ingredients on these products is what everyone should be doing. There are a lot of products with harmful, chemical ingredients that have flooded the market. The only way is to learn some of the common terminologies and then let it guide our buying decisions. Hopefully, popular brands are going to switch to using natural ingredients in their products.

    1. Hi Jessica,

Yeah, Tresemme is good, just like Schwartzkopf. Thanks for stopping by.

  3. I’ve used both, but really like TreSemme the best I suppose. Using neither one today, as using one for thinning hair, promoting hair growth.

    1. Thank you Janay. You’re not alone. A lot of people love Tresemme and its products. L’Oreal is great too but a luxury brand, which means they might be expensive.

  4. I use a Japanese brand now because I am in Japan and it does wonder for my hair. But, when I was growing up, I used Tresemme and I loved it. I don’t have problems with my hair, now and in the past, but I really like hair products that will help tame my hair (as it can get puffy a lot and I have thick hair).

  5. I have been using L’Oreal for a while and like that brand. My daughter swears by Treseme products.

  6. Hair falling is quite a problem specially to men. While lots are there to choose, we wouldn’t know the results until we try it.

  7. I have tried both. I have mixed feelings of both. My MIL uses Treseme and loves it, she has very coarse hair and it makes her hair very soft. Thanks for all the info!

  8. I have been using Tresemme since so long…but after I coloured my hair, salon suggested me to use L’oreal,I used it for 4 months and now I’m using tresemme. Now I feel that my hair is damaged a lot.IM SO MUCH CONFUSED. Suggest me what to do?

    1. Hi Lavanya, sorry for the late reply.

How long have you been using Tresemme? I suspect the coloring is not well managed, that’s why your hair is damaged. When you color your hair, you need to use the right shampoo/conditioner to maintain the hair. There are many color-safe shampoos out there but I don’t know which one you’re using or have used.

Can you mention the products you’re using from L’Oreal and Tresemme?

  9. Could you plz tell me the facts about L’oreal kids shampoo ? Does tressemme produce kids shampoo too?

    1. Unfortunately, I don’t have experience with the L’Oreal kid’s shampoo. You’d have to look at the ingredients list to be sure it’ll be suitable for your baby’s skin. You can learn more about their shampoo here: https://www.lorealparisusa.com/brands/loreal-kids

I don’t know if Tresemme produces kid’s shampoos. But some of their adult shampoos can be used for children. Make sure it’s those ones that don’t have bad scents… Note that shampoos for children should be “no tear” so be careful if you’re going to use yours so it doesn’t hurt them.
